Wild Birds in the Parks of Hudson County was published by Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs/Tourism Dev. in 2007 as an intro to the parks of Hudson County and the many birds you could see there.  I wrote Wild Birds to make the people of Hudson County aware of the nature they could experience in their local parks.  Many people at that time were convinced that nature did not and could not exist in Hudson County, which had been so industrial for so many years.  

I proposed the idea and wrote the text for the entire booklet.  I recruited Marvin Silber for his many bird photos and Michael Britt as a bird expert.

One of Marvin's most incredible photos was of a Snowy Owl perching next to a small tree with the Statue of Liberty in the background. Samples of the text of the booklet are posted below.
